After 7 months of painstaken research, writing, a lot of late nights and plenty of head scratching we got the green light to start production on our One Night Stand mid-length feature film – rechristened The Evening Lands.
One Night Stand is part of the Deltaplan talent program. It is an initiative of Dutch public broadcasting associations NTR, VARA and VPRO, in collaboration with the Dutch Media Fund, the Dutch Film Fund and the National Broadcasters Co-production Fund (CoBo). The program offers young film makers a chance to develop a forty-five minute film. Together with 5 other film proposals The Evening Lands was selected to go on through to production!
In short, The Evening Lands is a film about the violence resulting from segregation and polarisation within modern Dutch society. It investigates the way we live with, and relate to one another – or rather the ways in which we often tend not to. It is a coming of age story about an eightteen-year-old farmershand, set in the rural Dutch countryside.
