This week we got the go ahead for production on our new Dutch horror feature, titled MOLOCH. Together with writer/director Daan Bakker – Quality Time – and producer NL Film, I have been working on this idea for well over a year.
MOLOCH tells the story of Betriek who lives at the edge of a peat bog in the North of the Netherlands. When she and her family are attacked by a random stranger one night Betriek sets out to find an explanation. The more she digs, the more she becomes convinced that she is being hunted by something ancient.
The film is financed through a collaboration between the Dutch Film Fund, the NPO Fund, CoBO, VPRO and NTR. I feel incredibly fortunate to get the opportunity to tell this exciting horror story and I can't wait to share it with the world!
